Everything you might be wondering.
The practice, the book, and how to begin.
Is this a gratitude journal?
It will never ask you to feel grateful on command. Feelings do not arrive on schedule — attention does. That is why this is a noticing practice: you simply look, and write down what you find. The gratitude tends to arrive on its own, once noticing holds the door open.
How long does it actually take?
About three minutes a day. Two questions, a few lines each. Small enough to do even on the hardest days.
What are the two questions?
One looks outward: what was one good thing that happened today? One looks inward: what was one good thing about you? Most of us are far quicker to notice what happens to us than who we are while it happens. The practice trains both.
I've tried journaling before and failed. Will this be different?
There are no rules here, no structure to follow perfectly, no wrong answers. If you can write one line, you are doing it right. Most people who struggle with journaling struggle with the blank page — this book never gives you one.
What if I miss a day?
You pick it back up the next day. The book is not a streak counter and nothing is lost. There is no failing at this.
Why ninety days?
Research points to an average of about sixty-six days for a new habit to become automatic — and anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on the person. Ninety days clears that, with room to spare.
Do I have to start in January, or on a Monday?
No. You can start on any day of the year. Write today's date in your own handwriting on the first page and begin. The date is yours. The practice is yours.
Where can I buy the book?
The Noticing Practice is available on Amazon. Get it on Amazon →
Is it a book to read, or to write in?
Both. It opens with the story, the method and the research behind it — then hands you ninety daily pages, a weekly review every seven days, a checkpoint every twenty-one, and the Full Circle on Day 90.
What language is it in?
English.
Can I do the practice more than once?
Yes. This practice ends on Day 90; the noticing doesn't have to. Some rituals are worth returning to.
Where can I listen to the podcast?
On Spotify and Apple Podcasts — or right here on the podcast page.
What is the podcast about?
Everything wellbeing touches: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. It's a space of exploration, awareness and growth — not a place where an expert tells you what to do, but where a person on the path shares what she has learned and the voices that shaped her.
Do I need to have read the book to follow the podcast?
Not at all. They stand on their own. The book is one daily practice; the podcast is a wider conversation about wellbeing.
Do you write anywhere else?
Yes — longer reflections live on Substack.
What's in the newsletter?
New posts from Substack, plus news about the podcast and the book — sent whenever there's something worth sharing, not on a fixed schedule. No noise, no selling. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Can I write to you?
Please do. I'd love to hear your story — hello@designyourwellbeing.com, or through the contact page.
